Played professionally for four years before starting his coaching career at VMI.

JAMES LOFTON

Entering his third season as an assistant coach at Virginia Tech.
Spent five years as a head women’s coach at Ferrum College.
Led the Panthers to their most conference wins in Ferrum’s 27 years of intercollegiate competition.
Defender at UNCG and William & Mary and played in two ‘Sweet Sixteen’ NCAA Tournaments, one for each school.

THOMPSON FIELD

The home of the Hokies features seating for more than 2,000 fans, and the open areas around the venue allow for another 1,500 to watch. The facility also features an operations center for the broadcasting of games on the ACC Network, a bluegrass playing surface, and recently enhanced lighting and audio systems.
